ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Amy, and I’m SO excited and grateful that you are visiting my page. Here's a little bit about me!
I enrolled in cosmetology school in 2005, where I was able to learn haircutting fundamentals and beginner foiling and coloring techniques. After graduating in 2006, I worked out of a salon for a little while until I started having my kiddos (I have 4 kiddos now!!) and then left the salon to work out of my home for a number of years while my babies were so little. About 8 years ago, I was able to come back to the salon and realized that trends were changing FAST, and if I wanted to keep up, I would need to immerse myself in education. I developed an intense passion for balayage and creating natural looking color, and made it my personal mission to push myself and develop specific specialty skills in this area.
I buckled down and went to work! Over the last 8 years, I've traveled all over the US participating in many different classes, workshops, being a part of events, and attending multiple 1 on 1 trainings by nationally known hair artists and master hair painters. I took (and continue to take) multiple online courses each month to continually hone these skills and become as versatile as possible.
Because of these experiences, I am so honored to say that I have had some really incredible career blessings come my way. I have been nominated for 6 national Behind the Chair #ONESHOT Awards, 2 top five MOB nominations, was selected Modern Salon Top 100, and am now a part of the Modern Salon Artist Connective team. I am a Masters Of Balayage ambassador, and also a member of the Wella Passionista Team which thrives on certifications and continuing education!
In 2018, I started moving into being an educator myself, which was so exciting. I trained with Salt Society on the east coast and became an educator for the Travel Society. After that, I was able to transition into teaching dozens of independent classes all over the US! I have continued to do that over the last few years, which has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
These accolades have truly been such an honor, and they all mean a lot to me. But at the end of the day, my main goal is still just to make others happy and make them FEEL as beautiful as I already know they are! ❤️
